What bigger test of lighting than the fine-art nude? No wardrobe, no costumes, no props, no set... just the photographer, the subject, and light! And what better way to LEARN lighting, too! So we want to get a few people together and really dive into the concept, the theory, and the execution of using lighting creatively in the most basic of settings... fine-art nudes.
What happens when you use one light? How does size, distance, and modifiers change that light on your subject. What happens if you add a second? A third? What about 4, 5 or 6 lights? We will be looking at how things change as you add light sources, why you might want to add lights, and how you can use those lights to create a visually compelling image!
And what about special effects? How can we use ambient light, long shutter, and flash to create some really amazing effects? We will be experimenting with that too.
We will also be covering model etiquette and posing as well. How do you communicate the look you are after most effectively to your model? How does communication need to adjust for a fine art nude shoot as opposed to, say, a fashion shoot? What are some key posing techniques in fine-art nudes?
And finally... glitter! Why glitter? Because it's cool... and really hard to shoot! So our intrepid model will be covered in glitter towards the latter half of the shoot.
Speaking of our model, we are honored to have the amazing Amy Fantasea joining us! Amy is an extremely experienced model from Puerto Rico and is really excited to participate in our workshop!

This will be a hands-on, in depth, 3 hour workshop! Each photographer will be discussing the concepts, setting up the lights, shooting, and interacting with the model one-on-one, so we will be limiting the size of this workshop to only 6 photographers. And again, this is open to all photographers, beginners to advanced. If you are just starting out on your photographic journey we would love to have you join us! See you there!
